I usually like going here because it's tasty food and there aren't many other healthy options around here but...look at this slice of pistachio cheesecake. This portion is pathetically small and cost $7. It's highway robbery! It's literally an inch thick at the thickest part and it's literally curling and wilting at the end because of how thin it is. It's unacceptable for the price. It's like it was cut too small as a mistake but still sold anyway. If I go here again, I'm not stepping out of the store, I'm watching the server and see what slice they choose. This piece is so offensively small it almost feels like a hate crime.

From time to time I’ll have Cafe Valer with a coworker because we’re craving it, but also because it has a lovely outdoor atmosphere. It’s very accessible, usually with ample parking in the nearby parking garage, so you can always park close. I usually get the Garlic Chicken Pesto sandwich, and it always satisfies my taste buds. I can’t recall the taste now, but I’m writing this review while craving it again. I also like their strawberry banana smoothie. They give you a thin straw so it lasts longer.

Discovering New Favorites in West Covina: Café Valer Since moving from the Bay Area to West Covina, we’ve been exploring the area and discovering new favorite spots. One of these gems is Café Valer, just outside the West Covina Mall, which we had the pleasure of trying today. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Wrap and the Spicy Sirloin Wrap—both delicious! My daughter and I shared so we could sample different options. The flavors were fresh and savory, and the spice added a perfect kick. Even though we visited during lunchtime when it was busy, the wait was short, and the food was definitely worth it. We chose to dine in, and I was impressed by the friendly service. The staff brought our food directly to the table and checked in to see if we needed napkins or anything else before they left. Overall, I’d give Café Valer an 8.5 out of 10. It’s a great spot for a light, tasty lunch, and I’ll definitely be returning! If you’re in West Covina, I’d recommend giving it a try.
