I had high hopes for Lorca Cafe, but the cleanliness (or lack thereof) was a huge letdown. Walking in early in the morning, I expected a fresh start to the day, but instead, every table was dirty—definitely not the experience you want when grabbing coffee and a bite to eat. It’s pretty disappointing when a café can’t keep up with basic cleanliness. Lorca, if you’re reading this, please hire a decent cleaning crew. A good cup of coffee doesn’t make up for a messy environment. Until that’s fixed, I won’t be coming back.

I bought a $16 grilled chicken sandwich and was shocked at what I got. The photos speak for themselves. I barely got ANY chicken and there were no veggies as advertised. It was simply two pieces of bread with cheese and some sauce. The food quality here is really concerning. If you ran out of ingredients you should tell customers that the product is sold out rather than cheating customers like this. This is unacceptable customer service.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve probably been to Lorca over 100 times during my 2 years living in Stamford; I finally feel confident enough to leave a solid review. Food: Sandwiches I’ve gotten have had poor ingredients, were cold, dry, or just not very tasty. I understand that this is a coffee place, but the food does need an upgrade even after months of receiving the same mediocre foods. One time, I asked for my baked good to be warmed up, it came to me cold, I asked them to warm it up and I was denied and given a weird gesture. It wasn’t even that busy. Service: The 10-20 times I’ve ordered my coffee online was a waste of time. Even after waiting an extra 10 minutes after the ready time, my order is never at the table. I’d say it’s been there by that specific time maybe 3-4 times. My order in-store has been forgotten about many, many times, and usually I’m side eyed when I ask if they forgot, and yes they’d forgotten or their system wasn’t working? ONLY COME HERE IF YOU HAVE TIME TO SPARE Atmosphere: Even though it’s a little tight when it’s peak hours, the atmosphere is great. The lighting is nice, couches are nice, everything is usually cleaned and seats are pretty decent. Great place to study but music is unusually very loud for a Cafe, so bring headphones.
