Black Coffee ATL

I live a 5 min walk from here and was excited to get a good coffee shop. The ambience is very nice. The first time I came I just got iced espresso. Much more expensive than my other favorite coffee shops in the city but proximity was nice. Today I came for a cappuccino. However, although you can order one, they don’t have it. It’s essentially a latte in both price and form. A cappuccino is made with equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam, layered in a hot cup. I received a 12 oz drink that tasted just like a latte (which I don’t like). The coffee is good if you like lattes but I wouldn’t come here if you do want a cappuccino. (Or if you don’t want to pay for overpriced drinks compared to other top ATL coffee shops.) My cappuccino without a tip cost $6.50. Lastly, there are no “for here” cups so I ended up walking home instead of staying.

I enjoyed visiting this new black owned coffee shop in the West End. It's right off the beltline on Allene Ave. The interior is a modern, cozy vibe with some cool artwork. The service was very pleasant. Mya is awesome and always professional. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon. It's not a very large space, but there was more than enough seating for us to enjoy our drinks inside. I look forward to visiting again.

Wanted to like it. Looks like a cool spot to hangout at. But they are grossly understaffed, only one guy there doing cashier, cook, and barista duties. He was nice, but still! This is not the spot if you have anywhere to go in the next 30+mins…it wasn’t even full
