My partner and I were in town for the True/False film festival, and decided to stop in at Hexagon Alley the day after the fest to "recover" from long days and lots of walking. We stayed for nearly 6 hours, and played several different games from their library. To put it simply, we had a great time! 🙂 The employees were friendly and helpful, but let us be after we understood how things worked. 🚽 The bathrooms are nice and clean. 🎲 All of the games are well inventoried and in good, playable condition. 🥪 We had the Mousetrap (with turkey) and the Concordia. We enjoyed both, but the Concordia was a clear winner for us in terms of taste! Both sandwiches were made from fresh ingredients, and we really appreciated the incredibly safe food handling we witnessed. 🥤My partner enjoyed their bucket deal for canned cocktails/beers. I had a flavored water from their cooler and enjoyed the Splendor cocktail. While not a "traditional" espresso martini, it was by far one of the best mixed drinks I had during our time in CoMO. 💲We personally found all of the pricing to be very fair. We felt that the welcoming space, good food, varied drink selection, and ample playable games were well worth the money we spent. We'd happily spend just as much on future visits, as it's very clear that they put their profits to good use maintaining the space and keeping it well-staffed. The only downside is that Hexagon Alley is so far away from where we live! We will definitely be back on our next visit to central Missouri.

I'm not the typical customer here because I went to play the pinball machines instead of get into a board game or something like that. But this place basically has everything you would need to hang out for an entire afternoon without getting bored or hungry or thirsty. All the machines they have there are in top shape and I had a lot of fun playing them. I have just one small complaint and that is that usually with new Stern machines you can get three games when you put in $2, but it was a dollar a game. Every machine that's fine, but that just means I would probably go somewhere else to play Pinball when I was in Columbia visiting. Otherwise this is a completely solid place and I'm glad they are doing so well.

Columbia's newest hidden gem!! This wonderful board game cafe allows you to pay $5 for unlimited all day play of the board games they have there. And there are at least a hundred of them! There is great variety in the games they have, and if you really like a game, chances are, you can buy one for yourself from their assortment of new board games that are available for purchase! I was talking to Colleen the owner (sorry if i spelled it wrong!), and the origin story of the board game cafe is very cute! Pretty much, Colleen loved playing board games with her room mate in college, and was disappointed that there weren't really places around Columbia that tailored to people like her and her roommate, who preferred board games as a source of entertainment over going to bars. Well, now she's changed that, and the board game cafe she's made is very inviting and a great way to meet others who also love to play board games! Additionally, there are plenty of snack options and some sandwiches you can buy, so you don't have to cut a game short to go get food somewhere else. There are events scheduled throughout the month, some of them including days to paint minis, days to learn how to play board games, and days where they invite board game developers to test their board games with interested customers! There are plenty more events and these events can be seen on the website. Right now, they are in the process of expanding to make more spaces to play board games, and talking to one of the employees there, it seems they might be making private game rooms that can be reserved for Dnd groups! If you're looking for a fun affordable place to hang out with friends and have a good time, this is the place to do it!!
