Back in March my girlfriend and I took a short trip to St. Louis and ended up coming here every day. The vibe was super cozy, and the coffee was great! Was passing through town today and saw Protagonist was just off my route, and I’m super glad I decided to stop. My cortado was lovely, the spinach and feta croissant was wonderful, and the vibe was as cozy as I remembered. If you get the chance, I highly recommend stopping in!

Stopped here for coffee and dessert. Friendly staff, good coffee and ice cream. The sitting area is open and comfortable. Great atmosphere!

What a splendid cafe to visit. First off, love the name; had to say that. I had a coffee, London Fog tea and a blueberry muffin. The muffin was like tasting bliss, but be careful. It can be dangerously delicious. The coffee & tea were excellent. I highly recommend coming here if you’re able to. The amazing people working made it very easy for me & assisting me in what others like and/or honing in on what I’m looking for. It is a very comfortable environment to be in & the atmosphere is amazing. It’s good to come to places and just be sometimes. Just take in what’s going on all around you. Some people like to call it people watching, but I like to just think of it as observing the greatness that is this human existence. It’s such a beautiful thing to be cherished. Again, highly recommend coming here if you’re able to. Oh, they also have a very wide selection of books to read! Huge bonus! There is also some wines & other things. Had to look at some of the wines. Loved the names.
