42 & Lawrence coffee shop has such a lovely vibe. What brought me in initially were the unique latte names and flavors. Love Potion is my favorite so far but every time I turn around there’s another flavor I want to try. The owner has clearly added her style and magic touch to the atmosphere inside. There are plants all around and unique sitting arrangements; a bar at the window with unique stools, a bar along the barista’s station, and several tables. There is also outside seating available too. Thank you so much for providing an intriguing and calming atmosphere to enjoy coffee in downtown!

I had high hopes for this cafe, especially given their website’s promise of the “ultimate cafe experience” with “quality, creativity, and style.” Sadly, my experience fell well short of those expectations. Atmosphere: The space is small and cozy, but part of the seating area near the window was blocked by equipment, making it unnecessarily difficult to find a spot to sit. Service: While the staff was friendly, they forgot to make our coffee. After waiting by the counter for a while, they told us to have a seat and assured us they’d bring it over. Unfortunately, it took them 20 minutes to realize we’d been forgotten before they finally prepared our order. Food: The lattes tasted good, indicating high-quality coffee and milk. However, there was no latte art at all, despite the beautifully crafted designs featured on their website. They simply poured the milk in, with no sign of the creativity or style they advertise. Overall, this was far from the “ultimate cafe experience” they claim to deliver.

42 & Lawrence is a very cool vibe in downtown Raleigh. The place itself is small so I can see it being crammed inside when it's busy, however it does have some seating. I had the lavender cloud. The cloud is a cold foam infused with their homemade lavender syrup. They also make about 4-5 syrups. The drink is like nothing I've had before. It was so good! It gets 5 stars. The person I was with had their eggnog coffee and a croissant. Both of which he said were very good. In total he'd give those items a 4.5 star review. Overall, I'm giving it a 4 just bc I want to try another drink to taste the coffee. I'll adjust my review once I try a regular latte. I'm not rating the food bc I didn't eat the food there but I was told it comes from other local bakeries around the area.
