a cozy spot in Uptown Waterloo with a really nice vibe. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome right away. It’s a great place to chill with a coffee or hang out with friends. I have to say, though, the desserts were a bit of a letdown. They weren’t very fresh and were way too sweet for my taste. Maybe it was just an off day, but it was kind of disappointing. Despite that, the atmosphere and the friendly service make it worth a visit.

Cute intimate cafe with a nice window view of Uptown Waterloo. Food here is a bit pricey, I bought a turkey wrap and a large coffee and everything was $22. While the wrap was a good size, it was open on both ends and coupled with a small plate, it made for a messy lunch. The coffee tasted great but it comes in such a small cup despite ordering a large. There seemed to be only 2 people working during the lunch hour (the owner and a staff member) and they were stretched thin between helping customers and completing catering orders, some menu items were unavailable as a result. They were kind though and the food and coffee were delivered relatively quickly. Overall a decent place, a bit pricey but great ambience.

Everything about cafe 22 is cozy and warm and the staff are amazing and so sweet. The owner herself makes the most wonderful food and really gets to know her customers. I've been coming for years and she always asks how I am. Highly recommend coming by for lunch or just a sweet treat and a hot drink.
