We moved to this neighborhood in 2020 and shortly after Keeper opened up. I was thrilled we had a cute coffee shop close by but as we began going it was more than a coffee shop. The service is always stellar, everyone is friendly and makes you feel at home. Britt (the owner) makes it a point to be at the shop, connect with customers and is truly part of the community. As a food blogger and avid baker, I'm a tough critic - but OMG, let me tell you, Keeper has some of the BEST baked goods in the city. Their lemon tart is my absolute favorite! The strata is perfection as is their quiche. They have a hummingbird bread and sometimes a carrot loaf - both are delicious. Really you can't go wrong with any of their treats. We were going weekly but I had to scale back (my pants were yelling at me😂). Britt is a pillar in the community, always willing to support a school effort or fundraiser. She values people and their new policy to give employees FAIR wages by implementing a straight 20% gratuity fee is a smart move. If you live in Portland, you know the struggle of finding affordable housing, rising prices on everything. ALL employees deserve to have the same chance at fair wages. Britt ALWAYS supports other local shops - and has mentioned PLENTY that still have a traditional tipping culture. If Keeper isn't for you, you're missing out! More treats for us! 💯🎉🤩

I recently visited Keeper’s Coffee and was really impressed! The homey ambiance makes it such a cozy spot to relax or get some work done, and they have an impressive assortment of pastries that pair perfectly with their coffee. Coffee selection was fall from dull. The location was a bit out of the way for me (I drove 45 minutes to get there), but it was definitely worth the trip. I’d gladly come back! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend giving Keeper’s Coffee a try!

Keeper Coffee Co. is as close to the Platonic ideal of a cozy cafe as you can get. The coffee is hot and delicious. The pastries are perfectly crafted, and the staff is always kind, hospitable, and welcoming. The vibes are always comfortable and cozy, even when there is a crowd. If you only visit one Portland coffee shop, I recommend making it Keeper. I tried their vanilla latte, and they clearly use REAL vanilla, which is exceptionally good. Beyond the coffee, the pastries and food are simply outstanding. The quiche was possibly the best I've ever had: savory but not overpowering. The sweet treats, though, let me tell you, are SO good. There are so many to choose from it can be overwhelming. Trust your gut and pick whatever your instincts guide you to, you won't be disappointed. If you stop by on the weekend and there is a line, let me tell you it's worth the wait. Furthermore, I always appreciate businesses that take measures to ensure staff are well taken care of, and I was thrilled to see that Keeper recently enacted a service fee system and removed the antiquated tipping system that plagues our country. Living wage or service fees are a much more equitable and honest approach to paying staff, and I wish more businesses followed suit. Kudos to Keeper!
