Allen Cafe was well worth the wait! We went on Saturday and waited for about 15 minutes. Waitress was really nice to share recommendations. Food arrived fresh and warm. If you are in the area, we recommend you swing through and give it a try! It will not disappoint.

I normally come to Alan Café to relax and have a good meal. I particularly like to go there after having a fresh haircut. Barber is down the street. This was a very underwhelming experience. I was really looking forward to hot soup and a sandwich. I chose the fresh homemade chili and what I was told was freshly made. Chicken salad. Coffee was good. The chicken salad looked and tasted thrown together with pieces of lettuce , that were seriously off color and taste. The chicken salad had very little flavor, although it was clear that it was fresh. There wasn’t a lot of chili and it was lukewarm at best. Definitely not hot. I usually love this place. I ordered the hot apple pie which I was told is homemade. It is possible that it was homemade, but it wasn’t particularly memorable. Like the sandwich which looked thrown together, the pie also did not look like it was served as much as it was thrown on a plate. The flavor was OK but certainly not good. The chili was flavorful.

Ever heard of the Allen Cafe ?!! 😋🍴 I have lived in McKinney since 1994 and never heard of the Allen Cafe! I was craving some home-cooked breakfast and wanted to try someplace different, outside of McKinney. I found this place on Google. We arrived, and it gave me Bill Smith Cafe vibes, which I loved! I love small, mom and pop restaurants! Everything was absolutely delicious, the service was quick and great, and prices were very affordable. Make sure and give them a try! You will come back and thank me ❤️ Also, there is a giant Christmas tree in the field next to the restaurant. Great place for couples and family photos for the holidays!
