I think I've found my new favorite coffee spot, and it's surprisingly conveniently located and accessible. I've been obsessed with making great coffee for decades. Every morning, I make myself a pot of siphon coffee with fresh-ground beans. So I was excited to hear that there's a coffee shop in Round Rock makes siphon coffee as well as pour-overs. Yes, they have all of the other standard coffee configurations that you'll find at other coffee places (espresso, cappuccino, Americano, etc.), but it takes a real love of coffee to have these two options ... and do them well. For my first visit, I went with a pour-over, and I watched the barista as she prepared it. She did it perfectly, not just dumping all the water into the filter, but allowing the grounds to absorb it and release their essence slowly. Both of my favorite techniques take time, but they're well worth the wait. What you get is a fragrant, full flavor coffee without the bitterness and acidity that most coffee shops are for some reason comfortable with. The owner, Luis, knows his stuff. He's well-versed in coffee and shares his passion for it with his customers. In my opinion, you can keep your nasty, bitter Starbucks coffee. This is my new place to go.

A well thought out coffee shop in Round Rock. If you love a true coffee experience than you’ll want to come visit Coffee Enlightenment. Every details is well thought out. You can see they planned it as a great place for someone to enjoy a high quality cup or flight of coffee but also plug in your device and get some work done while enjoying it. What shines here beyond the hospitality is the incredible beans roasting in “the lab” and the high quality equipment to offer your beans brewed by French press, pour over, Cemex, Syphon,, espresso, or percolator. I suspect this will be a coffee shop that will attract people from all over the area that are looking for an enlightened coffee experience.

Such a nice place! Great coffee selection, atmosphere (sofas, chairs, large tables, small tables), "The Lab" where (I think) they roast and grind the different beans they offer and cakes, cookies, muffins, brownies. I hope places like this flourish!
